Não sei porque ainda me espanto....

Não sei porque ainda me espanto....

Político realmente é fiel =-O as suas convicções....

Flushing Renan

According to Josias de Souza, senator Cafeteira told his peers that he "has manipulated" the process against Renan Calheiros in the toilet...

It does not surprise me, since it's so full of c****.

Safari 3 Public Beta - now for windows as well

Steve Jobs announced the new Safari 3 Public Beta and with an added bonus that it runs on Windows.

According to Apple it loads pages up to 2 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2, and it executes JavaScript up to 2.8 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2.

I installed the XP version and I was not very impressed with it.

It looks nice, pages seem to display faster.

Pages in Japanese do not work at all. I tried to change the font and encoding - all fonts render as dashes. I tried also some pages from UOL news that have an embedded Windows Media player object and the browser crashes. Yahoo and You-tube work.

I still prefer Firefox, but will keep an eye on these developments.

Santa Cucina! Episode #1

He did it again! Fr Roderick starts a new video podcast Santa Cucina at SQPN.
Here, in the first episode, he cooks Italian pasta with mushrooms, bacon and green beans in a creamy sauce.
And while cooking, he chats about Rome, podsafe music and horror movies! Another great podcast (video in this case) from the coolest priest in the Netherlands!

What's inside our food...

Moira Gunn interviewed Steve Ettlinger for TechNation about his book Twinkie, Deconstructed: My Journey to Discover How the Ingredients Found in Processed Foods Are Grown, Mined (Yes, Mined), and Manipulated Into What America Eats.

It is a bit scary to know what is inside inocent looking food!

Some examples:

-Glucose, a sugar that adds bulk and sweetness to Twinkies' crumb and filling, also adds glossiness to shoe leather and prolongs concrete setting
-The iron compound in enriched flour is also used as a common weed killer
-Only a small percentage of the cornstarch that's manufactured annually goes into food like Twinkies. Two-thirds is used to make paper, cardboard and packaging "peanuts."
-When cooked, cotton cellulose is transformed into a soft goo, perfect for lending a slippery sensation to the filling in snack cakes - and rocket fuel
