Massa won, but Hamilton is the Formula-1 2008 Champion

In a spectacular race last Sunday, Massa celebrated his victory for a few seconds, but then Hamilton arrive in the fifth place and clinched the title!

He is the youngest ever champion and the first British to win since Damon Hill in 1996 and the first McLaren champion since Finn Mika Hakkinen in 1999. He is Britain's ninth champion.

He had some help from Ferrari - we just had to remember Singapore grand-prix in October, where they really took the title from Massa, by failing badly at the pit stop, but we had to say that Hamilton showed great talent and deserves the title.

Now, lets wait for 2009.

21st century crime - Jail time for a virtual murder

Impressive...  She will need a real lawyer.

A 43-year-old Japanese piano teacher, player in a virtual game world called "Maple Story" , became so angry about the sudden divorce from her online husband that she logged on with his
password and killed his digital character.

She  said to the police "I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry"

Players in "Maple Story"  create and manipulate "avatars" that represent themselves, while engaging in relationships, social activities and fighting monsters and other obstacles.

The woman used log-in information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married, in order to kill the character. The man complained to police when he discovered his online avatar was dead.
The woman was arrested Wednesday and taken 1,000 km from her home in Miyazaki to be detained in Sapporo, where the man lives, the official said. She did no plot any "real world" revenge.
She has not yet been formally charged. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison or a fine up to ¥500,000.

BookMooch - an update

I posted about BookMooch back in June. BookMooch is a book exchange site.

At the time I mentioned that I would give a try.

Well, I added 78 books and magazines I want to give away and my wishlist had 56 books that I would like to read. So far I received 3 books and sent 7, what is a good ratio.

I am happy and will continue to exchange books!

US$200 Bill!

Amazing....

Check
NC Wanted - in HALIFAX COUNTY, North Carolina a guy successfully passed a $200 bill with George W. Bush's portrait and a drawing of the White House with lawn signs reading "We like ice cream" and "USA deserves a tax cut."  He even got $50 change on the $150 purchase...

Makes you wonder the kind of cashier the shops are hiring nowadays....

Never imagined this existed,,,,

Check on the blog "Um Rebordão no Japão" the incredible Masturbate-a-thon.

No one could describe it so well as Antonio!

This is entry from Wikipedia:

Masturbate-a-thon is an event where participants masturbate in order to raise money for charity and to increase awareness of, and dispel the shame and taboos that persist around, this form of sexual activity.[1] During the past six years, the Masturbate-a-thon has raised over $25,000 for women’s health initiatives and HIV prevention, education and treatment organizations, and has contributed to debates about safer sex and alternative safe methods of sexual expression.

BookMooch - a community for exchanging used books

Found BookMooch site today in Japanzine magazine !

BookMooch lets us give away books we no longer need in exchange for books we want.

Every time you give someone a book, you earn a point and can get any book you want from anyone else at BookMooch. Once you've read a book, you can keep it forever or put it back into BookMooch for someone else, as you wish.

The only cost is mailing the books to others.
We receive a tenth-of-a-point for every book entered into the system, and one point each time we give a book away. In order to keep receiving books, you need to give away at least one book for every three we receive.

I will give a try. Added 14 books today.

Suphala - Unwind You

Suphala - Unwind You

Tabla Artist, Composer, and Producer, Suphala:

In Feb. 2005, Suphala made history when she became the first musician to play in public in Kabul since the fall of the Taliban. According to the New York Times, "Kabul's badly depleted music scene received a welcome injection of excitement last week with the arrival of Suphala, the New York-based tabla player and composer… Suphala certainly brought brightness… her touch and rhythm are sure." It caused a sensation in the war-torn country. "I have not played with a woman before," one Afghan tabla master said. "Our grandfathers do not even know of it."

Suphala assets, video. Record Release performance -- July 10th, 2007 at Canal Room in NYC: track from Suphala's album "Blueprint", song and all parts written by Suphala, performers include Suphala (tabla), D.I. Noizepunk (laptop, keys), Edie Venegas (violin), David Gotay (cello).

PT - dengue no governo dos outros é ...

Antes a culpa era do Serra... E agora? E mesmo assim a popularidade do Lula aumenta.

Agora? Agora o descaso do governo Lula desmatela hospitais federais....

Saiu no G1 no dia 17:

Bush "Envious" Of Soldiers Serving "Romantic" Mission In Afghanistan

From Reuters:

Talking to Soldiers in Afganistan, Bush says:

"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."

"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.

Forget what you know about Hasidic Jews.

Matisyahu (born Matthew Paul Miller, June 30, 1979) is an American reggae musician.

He wears the traditional clothing of Hasidic Jews and does not perform on Sabbath, but his reggae is great!

This piece, King Without a Crown is fun, dancing and has a message. Enjoy.

Taxi?

Found this old photo in my hard disk. It was taken with an APS camera - does anyone still use this? It had a lot of noise, I believe film was 800 ISO, so I have increased even more the noise on Photoshop and it actually looks nice.

It was taken in Xian on 2002. Xian is that place where they found the terracotta soldiers. China changed a lot in 6 years....

A xenofobia do albanez!
